No matter how busy and hectic my days get, I can pretty much guarantee that each one will begin and end with one of the only constants in my routine (besides prayer, of course), and that’s my beloved Clarisonic! I never knew how fun and exciting washing my face could be until I stumbled across this gem of a beauty staple.
For those who aren’t quite hip to the wave yet, the Clarisonic is a facial cleansing brush that utilizes sonic technology (fancy, right?) to deliver a gentle, yet far more thorough cleanse of the skin. According to scientific studies, the brush removes six times more makeup and two times more dirt and oil than manual cleansing. So much for throwing some soap and water on that thang and calling it a day – nope! Often times when washing by hand, traces of cosmetics products, oil, and debris from the air are still left deep within the pores and on the surface as well. In just 60 seconds, once or twice a day, the company claims that the brush will leave the skin looking and feeling smoother, reduce oily areas, dry patches, and blemishes, and minimize the appearance of visible pores. Hey, now!
Since it’s creation, a couple different versions of the Clarisonic brush have hit the market (the Mia, Mia2, Classic, and Plus), but the main differences have only been the physical size and number of speeds offered. There’s also some variation in brush heads, based on skin type. But again, they’re all able to be used with any system. But today, the company launched a completely new cleansing system targeted towards acne-prone skin, and it sounds pretty darn promising.
The Clarisonic Acne brush, like the Mia2, has two speeds and a one-minute pulsing T-timer. The lime green and white brush head is safe for use on blemished skin; the plush bristles deliver a “concentrated flushing of the pores” while remaining ultra-gentle so as not to compromise sensitive skin surfaces. The accompanying Acne Daily Clarifying Cleanser is a 2% salicylic acid treatment that dries and clears blemishes, aids in the healing of the skin, and prevents future breakouts. It’s enriched with soothing vitamins and botanicals that help combat redness and leave the skin feeling soft and supple.
