Beauty
Jan 12, 2012
I’m not a beauty girl. I don’t know anything about makeup, cleansers, toners, eye creams, lipsticks, etc….nothing. My face is a virginal canvas, untouched by anything other than Neutrogena and Palmers Cocoa Butter or Aveeno lotion. However as I get older I’m realizing that it might be time to start some kind of beauty regimen. It can’t hurt to have a few toners, eye creams or lipsticks in my arsenal right? The problem? I have no idea where to start! So I’m turning this one over to you, help a beauty virgin out and let me know….

Exfoliating cleanser, moisturizer, lipgloss, mascara, & bronzer
In order of importance…
1. Oil Free Face Lotion with sunscreen (I like OLAY Complete SPF 30.)
2. Mascara
3. Lip gloss
4. Subtle highlight color
5. An eye shadow palette with WEARABLE colors (I customized mine at INGLOT so I don’t have any outrageous colors that I’ll never wear.)
cleanser, moisturizer (night time), mascara, lip balm & tinted moisturizer (day)
EOS lip balm, eye liner, clear mascara for a clean “my lashes flutter like this naturally look”, a great moisturizer, and an orange cream blush =)
it starts with digestion so i would suggest a good juicer and a gallon of water a day. yes, i drink a gallon a day and my skin is great! also use a cleanser and moisturizer. for everyday make up i love Nars “Exhibit A” blush and gloss for my lips.
Not that natural beauty isn’t enough, but….
1)Nubian Heritage Soaps
2)Bentonite Clay mask
3)Shea Moisture African Black Soap Balancing Face Moisturizer
4)Lip Balm (homemade, EOS)
5)Hand & Body Lotion by Bel Nouvo (www.belnouvo.etsy.com)
1) Appropriate and effective moisturizer for the season – I use Olay products and a heavier moisturizer in the winter months.
2) A gentle facial cleanser – I use Cetaphil or a comparable store brand
3) A good eye makeup remover – I use Neutrogena or Target brand
4) Burt’s bees lip balm
5) MAC tinted moisturizer as a base
The skincare is a must, because if you skin is dry and your lips are chapped, it won’t matter what kind of makeup you have on your face.
I know you said 5 but…lol!
