When you transform from a perm to natural, you must not be afraid of the big chop. When you are left with your Teeny Weeny Afro (TWA), you may think “How am I going to style this little bit of hair?” Whether your hair is short or long, you always have many options for hairstyles.

The best thing about having a TWA is that it takes only a few minutes to achieve a new hairdo. It’s time for you to embrace your tiny afro and give one of our favorite hairstyles a try.

Wash and Go

This is the easiest style you can do whether your hair is newly chopped or growing into a full blown afro. Just wash your hair, add some oil, or a leave in conditioner, and go. You can add an ouchless band to shape your hair into an afro puff.

Finger Coils

Work those fingers of yours for coils. After washing your hair, you detangle your hair and simply twist your fingers in a circular motion. If you would like the style to last, make sure you add a moisturizer.

Two Strand Twists

When you have one to two inches of hair, you will be able to create two-strand twists. All you have to do is grab to strands of hair and twist strands from the root to tip.

Flat Twists

Another great twist hairstyle that involves two-strand twisting towards the scalp. You can just do the front of your hair or you can do twists like cornrolls. Simply part your hair and pick up more hair as you twist.
Bantu Knot out

Need a versatile style, then try Bantu Knots. To get this look, twist sections of hair and twirl it around itself to create knots.

P.S. Nothing spices up these hairstyles like headbands, ribbons, flowers, and scarves. Try a hairdo, put on a hair accessory, and you will have a stylish TWA stage.

    Thank you for this post!!!

  • SassyFrassy

If you can style it, it’s no longer a TWA.

      I completely disagree

  • Sista2

I disagree with that. You can still style your hair with one or two inches of hair.

Typo: All you have to do is grab (to) strands of hair and twist strands from the root to tip.

I am going natural and this article helped me move from blowouts to wearing my natural curl pattern.

I think we should be more positive than negative.
