Vashtie Kola's Style and NYC Apartment Featured on Refinery29 - Coco & Creme

To give Vashtie Kola just one title does her résumé and talent a great disservice. She’s a DJ, photographer, director, party promoter and now a designer, as well as being one of New York City’s “It” girls. She’s crowned herself “Downtown’s Sweetheart” and has designed Air Jordans as well as having directed videos for Justin Bieber, Solange Knowles, Jadakiss, Slim from 112 and many more.

Vashtie is known for her hipster chic style, but she got dolled up in dresses and heels for Refinery29 when they profiled her style as well as her New York City apartment in the East Village. She credits Frida Kahlo, Denise and Claire Huxtable and Gina from hit show Martin as some of her style inspirations.

Above, Vashtie wears a vintage wrap, a belt from Temperley London and boots from Burberry Prorsum, showing that she does in fact love high-fashion pieces. Her dream designer collaborations are Marc Jacobs, Rachel Roy, Alexander Wang, Pierre Hardy, Mark Fast, Jeffrey Campbell and Doc Martens.

What’s up next for Vashtie? An upcoming party with Q-TIP in New York City, her first film, the new t-shirt collection for her line Violette as well as the launch of the line’s website, her new Tumblr which will showcase vintage pieces, her role as a brand ambassador for Heineken and so much more.
