The Beyonce train is running full steam ahead. As the songstress prepares for the release of her latest LP 4 and graces covers of almost every magazine on the newsstand, she found time to announce the launch of her latest fragrance, Pulse.

Beyonce markets the new fragrance as unique since the bottle is upside down and the design is inspired by her stage costumes:

“I wanted to do something completely out of the box and modern, so we created the upside down, faceted bottle that highlights the blue juice inside. The chrome cap is inspired by my stage costumes, which I love because it incorporates fashion into the overall design… and I love fashion! [...] I believe my music makes women feel strong, and Pulse is all about finding that power inside.”

While the fragrance bottle is certainly beautiful with Rihanna’s upside-down heel “Reb’l Fleur” fragrance and Katy Perry’s “Purr” creations just to name a few, we can’t help but feel overwhelmed by the celebrity fragrance craze.

Are you over celebrity fragrances or are there any actually worth picking up? Will you purchase Beyonce’s new “Pulse” fragrance?

My nose hasn’t been pleasured by a single celebrity fragrance except Halle Berry’s first fragrance. I enjoyed the earthy tones to it and the hints of sandalwood *dramatically breathes in deeply*

In general, yes, I’m OVER celebrity-endorsed/celebrity-created fragrances because its becoming more of a fashion statement/the next “must-have” than just truly creating a sweetsmelling fragrance to give loyal eau de parfum/eau de toilette wearers their money’s worth.

If the bottle is exceptionally pretty/out-of-box that is all well and good but if I smell like a twice dead skunk when the scent mixes with my body’s chemistry I’LL PASS. I don’t support anyone’s career that much to spend upward of $100 on a big fancy bottle of glorified lighter fluid. Sorry.

No, I’m not over it. If I were a Beyonce stan, I would probably buy this, if I liked the scent. I have Reb’l Fleur.

And why would the trend be overwhemling at this point? This trend had been going on well before Bey and Ri released their fragrances. I’m sure if I looked hard enough in my mother’s perfume caddy, I’d find White Diamonds and Passion by Elizabeth Taylor.

does anyone else see the thierry mugler “inspiration” here?! i know that he was the designer for at least one of her tours, but really, the bottle, the blue-colored scent, c’mon already! does this girl have an original thought at all?? throwing the word INSPIRED around does not take away from the unoriginality.
