Closet Crush: Rosario Dawson - Coco & Creme

Rosario Dawson has staying power, having started her acting career over 15 years ago. Since then, she has delved into the worlds of music, writing and philanthropy and has done it all in style, letting her natural beauty and dynamic personality shine through.

The New York City native exploded onto the scene with her role in Kids in 1995 and the journey was all uphill from there. She has gone on to stars in films including He Got Game, Men in Black II, Seven Pounds, Unstoppable and many more. Right before the new millenium, music icon Prince enlisted Rosario to do a voice-over on the remix of his hit song “1999” and he called her “the voice of a generation”. As for her charity work, she is involved with the Lower East Side Girls Club, Oxfam, Amnesty International and a host of others, as well as co-founding Voto Latino.

Rosario’s style has always been subdued and chic and her 5’7″ frame lends itself to both flirty cocktail dresses and long column gowns. Her work in various fields always places her on red carpets all over the globe which means that she lives in high-fashion pieces. When she is more relaxed and out and about, she opts for layered scarves and knee-high boots, showing off the relaxed style that is inherent to her native Lower East Side neighborhood. Rosario has been a fixture at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival in the past week and we cannot wait to see what ensembles she creates for the rest of the year.
