Trying something new can be a scary thing, especially when it takes you out your comfort zone (see Keri Hilson and Rihanna). It’s been times, when we have seen a color on one of our favorite celebs or tastemakers and have been scared to try it out on ourselves for a number of reasons.

Clutchettes—we want to know if you have ever wanted to color your hair but were scared? Make sure you dish on the one color you are dying to try but are scared to!

I’m DYING to try and red/auburn color for my hair bcuz i’m in love, or rather obsessed, with the hair color, and anyone who’s hair is that color!

I’m just afraid that if I do it, it won’t look right on me, maybe it’s not perfect for my complexion, blah blah…

I bought some red henna dyes, and hopefully when i try them out, i MIGHT get a taste of the color and decide whether i really wanna go through it it!

All the stuff I’ve done to my hair…I’m just happy to have hair to comb at this point. That is why I wear a wig. I’d rather go fake than color my hair.

    So, I’m not alone?

I’ve been dying (no pun) to experiment with twin streaks, similar to what Lea from Bad Girls Club has, except with a brown that matches my complexion. I’m curious about how it would turn out.

In the past, the furthest I’ve gone is wearing auburn and dark brown wigs in college. Since birth, women would always gush over my jet black hair and I was injected with cautionary tales at salons. Ever since someone told me: “Don’t ever dye your hair. You hear me? It’ll never go back to this original color. Women spend alot of money for that color.” – I’ve been afraid to try anything.

Sadly, my hair is not as “jet black” anymore since getting locs. I feel now would be time to get over the fear and just see what I can do. I don’t want to go cliche and dye the tips or do my whole head. Just something that gives personality.

    Any tips?

I’d love to die my hair a rich copper color. I’d feel it would bring a warmth to my complextion

Scared??? I’ve never been afraid to dye. I usually experiment with a rinse before I commit to permanent color. If it doesn’t work, I can just wash it out. I’m currently rocking a bob with……..random blond patches lol.Similar to Lea from BCG but a lot more blond I’ll probably go jet black in a couple weeks and auburn in the spring.

Ladies, don’t be scared to experiment. It’s just hair!

I’ve always wanted to try a blue or purple color. But when trying these colors you have to bleach your hair. :( But now that i’m getting older I’m not even sure if it appropriate anymore. I guess I missed my opportunity. I’ve also wanted to try the Kelis grey hair look as well. Love Kelis!

i’ve never been afraid of trying new colors, i”ve gone completely blond (my natural color isdark brown) to having pink highlights etc. a lot of times i end up spending an entire day at the salon just so i get the exact color i want. i don’t think anybody should be afraid because if worse comes to worse you just dye it back to your natural color.
so if in doubt, just go for it!!!
