We’ve all shared clothes and makeup with our girlfriends, so why not personal trainers, makeup artists and stylists? It looks like BFFs, Kim Kardashian, Ciara, Serena Williams, LaLa Vasquez and Kelly Rowland, have been doing just that. The tight-knit clique has been spotted partying, dining and shopping in Vegas, NYC and L.A., glammed up and always camera-ready. And they all seem to be looking more and more like Kim Kardashian clones.
Last year, paparazzi swarmed Ciara and Kim while they grabbed lunch. The gossip blogs buzzed that it was a publicity stunt. Who could blame them? The whole thing seemed so orchestrated. (Remember them both awkwardly punching away at their phones?) Back then Ciara rocked some cornrows and a flowy maxi dress. These days, you’ll find them out and about in almost identical outfits—body skimming tops, skinny jeans, tailored jackets, stilettos and oversized clutches—the Kardashian uniform.
Back in June, LaLa debuted a svelte pre-nuptial body in Life & Style magazine. As an early wedding gift, Ciara and Kim got her sessions with their trainer. She dropped fifteen pounds to fit into the Vera Wang wedding gown bestie Kim bought her. “Kim and Ciara have incredible bodies, so I thought, If he’s the guy responsible for that, then I need to get in there,” LaLa told the magazine. Since hanging with Kim, LaLa has said goodbye to Juicy sweatsuits, ill-colored weaves and unflattering dresses.
The former MTV host also brought her BFF Kelly into the mix. The two recently dished to VIBE about why they’re such close friends. Now it’s not uncommon to see Kelly seated beside Kim and Ciara during Fashion Week. Earlier this summer, Kim even tweeted “Wooowhooo RT @MIKESNEDEGAR My Favorite song right now is COMMANDER by @KELLYROWLAND @davidguetta – Song of The Summer!”
The most recent addition has been tennis champ, Serena Williams. She and Kim dined together earlier this month. Ever since, the duo has been spotted together at various events. Serena recently hosted the Hamptons Magazine party in NYC with gorgeous hair and makeup, almost identical to Kim’s. Folks have begun speculating that she’s gotten work done, but we surmise she’s just using Kim’s pro-makeup artist, Mario Dedivanovic. The smoky eyes, lengthy lashes, luminous makeup, including Kim’s signature highlighted under the eye look (FYI: he uses YSL’s Touche Eclat) have Mario written all over it.
Kim’s own look has definitely gotten an upgrade over the years, thanks to her fabulous stylist Monica Rose. Long gone are her bushy eyebrows, leave-little-to-the-imagination obsession with Hervé Leger dresses. She’s learned that less is more and now her closet staples are chic blazers, wide leather belts and sexy-yet-not-too-revealing dresses.
So why shouldn’t she share the love (and sense of style)? And give her girls’ careers and publicity a major boost while she’s at it. After all, that’s what friends are for, right?

Honestly, that is a tab bit sad that these women don’t have a sense of style and direction of their own. Of course, friends influence each other clothing choices and style but overall the individual person still should shine through. Kim K does have great style that works for her but those are her elements, so the other ladies need to focus on making themselves shine through. I mean they all look nice but what happen to individuality…
It’s common for friends to all hang out, party, and support each other and share the same taste in fashion. I don’t see anything wrong with that.

True they do look ALOT better, but find your own sense of style. I hope this helps them find their own style and stylist.
Good article on celebs’ influences on other celebs, but I can’t dig Kim. Sure she’s stylish, cute and all, but at the end of the day, her sex tape is what put her on the map. Surely no one would suggest that others follow in those footsteps, would you?

A Kim upgrade! Terrible article. I never knew KK was a style icon bc she isnt. She may look cute but people arent running to see what shes wearing. Kim gets advice on how to dress just like the other Celebs. I think its awful and mighty disrespectful for the author to play the other sisters mentioned in the article. If you want to make a reference on style call it the Beyonce upgrade bc she’s a superstar and someone to watch that wears that uniform spoken of….

Hmm! I kind of agree with the article, but, I don’t think they want to be Kim clones. I think Kim is the real star out of the group besides Serena, so, this is why people feel this way. It’s like when you were back in H.S. hanging with the popular girls and people would swear you’re copying the leader style when that really wasn’t the case at all. I think when you hangout with your friends so often it’s only natural to take on a little bit of their style and vice versa. I think the media gives Kim way too much credit than she deserves.

Kim’s fashion sense is off da chain. I love seeing her on red carpets or pictured all around town (you know there are hundreds of pics of her all around town in stilettos . lol).
It’s pretty natural for friends to build off one another. I don’t think that they are trying to be her clones, but instead are getting inspired by Kim’s dopeness.

i don’t know if these ladies’ change in style (whatever that might be) is solely attributable to kim k. i personally think it’s just personal growth, maturity, and being in a young, trendy, and fashionable milieu. i think you’re giving kim k WAAAY too much credit.
I’ve literally been saying the same thing for a few months, even calling it the Kardashian Uniform as well lol. While I think nothing ill of their friendship and fashionable style, I do think it’s funny and reminiscent of the high school days when the popular girls would all become clones of each other.

No hate here. I check Kim’s make up tips regularly. I love that she is generous with her knowledge of beauty. It is after all what she does for a living, she is a stylist and boutique owner. God bless her!
If i had a friend that constantly had her face/makeup, hair, and clothing game right as much as Kim K does, then hell yeah i would want that friend to help a sista out…thats what friends are for. It doesnt make the other women look bad because they have emulated her somewhat, cause they are all making it work for their face and body type. No one can tell me that serena in that leopard print dress wasnt looking stunning……ESPECIALLY coming from where she was. We all know her old outfit used to try to downplay her muscular body by being “cutsy” and made her look draggish instead, but now shes looking better and prolly feeling better as well. As are lala and kelly. There are so many more C&C celebs that could used a dose of the kim effect, what we now need to see are these women infuse a lil more of their own style in the looks.

Love the article! All of you dissenters know very well that Kim K has great style. I love her use of blazers. So many women need to discover that a good, tailored blazer can work wonders. If that is all Kim brings to the style game, that is enough!
As far as the road she walked (or rode) to fame, of course, it is not the road I would emulate. But we’re not talking about that. We are just talking about her style. Geesh!
Yes she’s touched them with her magic style wand, but none of them are as stylish as Kim. Kim understands her body and knows the importance of fit. It doesn’t matter what you wear as long as the fit is right. I think Serena is the clear stand out in this group. Her hair, make up and clothing have improved over night. Her make-up is softer. She just looks amazing.
Now if all of Kim’s pupils could just get together and convince her to stop botoxing her face. Give back ladies, she’s helped you, now help her lol.

Kim is a woman of color. She’s Armenian American. This site has Amber Rose as it’s look of the flipping day and she’s no worse than Kim and no more “of color”. I’m not a Kim fan, but seriously the way some black women treat her is a little ridiculous.
Cameron Diaz is a half Cuban woman of color, will she be featured on this site soon too? I can go to any other fashion site and you’ll see Kim K displayed daily. I have no problem with her, let her make her money. I just don’t understand why sites like this are obessesed with a woman who doesn’t project anything positive and doesn’t have anything to do with black culture other than sleeping with black men. I thought the point was to showcase women of color who are ignore everywhere else.

ok last comment: Can we go on a campaign bigging up women of color with great style that don’t really get that much love like Zoe Saldana (who by the way is gorgeous and of color even though she doesnt have typical African features) and Janelle Monae who’s influence you can see all over the “cool girl” set. But you know what, I’m not in the least surprised. Not so much now but I’ve met too many black women who are afraid to explore fashion. Seems most black women are good at copying fashion but have a hard time creating their own style. There is still this whole, I’ll only where it if 100 other girls in my circle are wearing it too.
I say it is sad because I’m just a stay@home mom, but I know how to go to the thrift store buy a classic fit and have it tailored. WTF?

Well, it’s no new phenomenon that girl friends imitate their look to strengthen their bond. It’s interesting when we see it with celebrities and this reminds me of the Rachel Zoe, Zoe-bot era when Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton all morphed into the one person. I’m sure there is a ‘glam squad’ who are showcasing their talents on this particular group of girls. I think they all look great (the excessive contouring is a little bit severe sometimes), but maybe should try to embrace their individuality when together or they may go a little bit too much down the Bratz doll advert route.
last time i checked it was normal for girls to follow trends && most girls where the samething anyway…i dnt thnk any of them have changed their style…this article is a little ridiculous
