We all know designer runways and top fashion magazines are great places to seek inspiration and get a first-hand look at the latest trends. But here at C+C, we’re more interested in seeing clothes and accessories worn the real way by real people! Every month or so, we select a particular reader whose sense of fashion sets him/her apart from the rest. “Muse” is meant to be a platform of great style and individuality, and will hopefully inspire other readers to continue looking their best and experimenting fearlessly with their own wardrobes!

Name: “Rinny” or Sherrin
Age: 22
Location: Los Angeles, CA but Texas-born and raised
Occupation: Blogger/College Student/Make-up Artist/Model (everything except SCUBA instructor)

C+C: How would you best describe your personal style, in five words or less?
Sherrin: Eclectic, Foxy, Sheneneh, Girl Scout

C+C: What is your favorite article of clothing (or accessory) in your wardrobe that you just can’t get enough of?
Sherrin: My favorite article of clothing is probably my I heart Ronson military jacket! I absolutely LOVE it! I snagged it on sale at JCPenney over 1 year ago. A close second would probably be my taupe Steve Madden heels.

C+C: Who or what you typically look to when you need fashion inspiration?
Sherrin: I typically people watch. In L.A. there are so many different styles clashing together. It’s a real-life fashion lookbook for the most part. I also like to watch old Soul-train videos and mimic the style since 70s style seems to oh so appropriately complement natural hair. Sometimes, I just get a little intuition about styles and go with it…sometimes it works and sometimes I purchase sequin leggings that never leave my closet.

C+C: If you could sit front row at any show during fashion week, which designer would you choose and why?
Sherrin: This is kind of a hard question because as a fashion blogger, I’m expected to well be into hardcore “fashion” and all that jazz. However, I just like styles that are fun so I would choose Betsey Johnson, I just love the woman’s line! Everything is high-tide ridiculous and I enjoy every single bit of it!

C+C: Where do you see the future of fashion in the next 5-10 years?
Sherrin: In the next 5-10 years, I just expect fashion to continue recycling itself. There was a huge shift in the 80s to resemble classic 50s fashions and now that we’ve gone through the early 80s neon tights and acid wash trends of 2008-2009, I predict we’re going to go through that same classic all-american 50s shift. I’ve seen some 90s styles try to make a comeback but I don’t know if I particularly want to see platform sneakers and wide-leg JNCO pants again. I’m really anticipating style will change for men. I would love to see more guys dressed like David Ruffin or The Stylistics!
